Axelspace Corporation (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yuya Nakamura) is pleased to announce that we have received the “2022 Kuramae Venture Award” sponsored by the Kuramae Industrial Association.
The Kuramae Industrial Association (Kuramae Kogyo-Kai) is the alumni organization of the Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech). The Kuramae Venture Award is an award given to a venture businesses founded or managed by a Kuramae Kogyo-Kai member that has found commercial application for new technology and created a new market and employment.
The reason Axelspace was selected for this award is as follows: “As a pioneer in the microsatellite business since the world’s first successful production and launch of a palm-sized satellite (CubeSat) during the tenure of its founding members, Axelspace has made numerous outstanding efforts toward its vision ‘Space within your reach,’ making space a normal place where satellite data can be used as a matter of course. We are very pleased with the progress of the AxelGlobe business and looking forward to seeing the contributions to society through AxelGlobe satellite GRUS data services for weather observation, agricultural applications, and maritime operations, as well as the expansion of orders for mass production of microsatellites in the AxelLiner business.”
Naoki Miyashita, Director and CTO of Axelspace, commented on the award as follows:
“Axelspace is a university startup company that leverages the results of nano-satellite research developed during student days at the Tokyo Institute of Technology and the University of Tokyo, respectively. We are very honored to win the Kuramae Venture Award from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, one of our alma maters. This award is a great opportunity for all of us to work harder to develop our vision, ‘Space within your reach.'”
