Axelspace Participates in Consortium Led by RESTEC Selected for Japan’s Space Strategy Fund Project on “Implementation of Satellite Data Utilization System”

Developing a Mechanism for Calibration, Validation, and Correction to Promote the Utilization of Domestically Developed Microsatellites

Axelspace Corporation (“Axelspace”), a developer and operator of microsatellites committed to its vision of “Space within Your Reach,” today announced it has participated in a five-company consortium selected under the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA)’s Space Strategy Fund (2nd Phase) for the theme “Implementation of Satellite Data Utilization System: (C) Developing mechanisms for satellite data application systems to gain satellite data solution businesses (observation, positioning, etc.)” on March 13, 2026.

The consortium is led by the Remote Sensing Technology Center of Japan (RESTEC) , with Axelspace, PASCO CORPORATION, New Space Intelligence Inc. and Synspective Inc. serving as members. Its joint proposal aims to develop an evaluation method that will enable satellite data users to evaluate satellite data in a unified manner, so that they can use it taking into account the quality and characteristics of various types of satellite data.

Project period: From the effective date of contract to the end of September 2030(*)

*The initial contract period shall be from the contract date to the end of the fiscal year in which the first stage gate evaluation is completed.

Through this technology development, the five companies will contribute to strengthening the international competitiveness of domestically produced small satellite data and expanding its utilization market, while also helping to address global social challenges through the use of space.
