Axelspace Office Relocates to Nihonbashi District in Tokyo for More Effective Business Operations

APR - 17 - 2017

OTHER

As a consequence of its continued business expansion, Axelspace Corporation (HQ: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Yuya Nakamura) has moved in April 1st, 2017 to a new office in the Tokyo district of Nihonbashi-Honcho, Chuo-ku. At the same time, it vacated the previous office in Kanda-Ogawamachi, Chiyoda-ku which had been in use since 2011.

Following a successful Series A funding round in 2015, Axelspace is currently developing its AxelGlobe project, consisting in a 50-satellite constellation enabling high-frequency whole-Earth observation. The team is hard at work to produce the first three microsatellites of the constellation, which will be launched by the end of 2017. At the same time, Axelspace is also creating a satellite commissioned by the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) for its “Innovative Satellite Technology Demonstration Program”, which is expected to be launched in 2018. It is also constantly improving and expanding its automated satellite-orchestration platform, its AI-based image analysis infrastructure and other IT innovations. To sustain these constant improvements in both quality and quantity of business, Axelspace is rapidly growing its team. The decision to move to a new, larger office is part of this effort.

The new office occupies two upper floors of “Clip Nihonbashi Building”, a new construction built by Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. The first floor of the same building will host “31VENTURES Clip Nihonbashi”, a co-working space operated by Mitsui Fudosan which will relocate from its current location in Nihonbashi-Muromachi and expand to include a cafe.
