Aiming to Provide Solutions for Agriculture, Environment, and Infrastructure
Axelspace Corporation (“Axelspace”), which develops and operates microsatellites, and conducts business to promote a society where space is accessible to people around the world, is pleased to announce the products partnership agreement with Geoimage Pty Ltd, a leading Australian satellite imagery and geospatial solutions provider.

By partnering with Geoimage, the two companies aim to combine Axelspace’s technology for operating Earth observation GRUS-1 microsatellite constellation, with Geoimage’s local expertise and strong relationships with clients, to deliver solutions tailored to Australia’s needs for each industry such as agriculture, environment and infrastructure management.
Since 1988, Geoimage has been an industry leader in remote sensing technologies, distinguished by its strong partnerships with leading providers and advanced image processing and analysis capabilities.
With the launch of the first GRUS-1 satellite in 2018 and four more in 2021, Axelspace has built a valuable global archive of wide-area and high-frequency optical imagery with 2.5-meter resolution. This partnership will also prepare the market for the arrival of the next-generation Earth observation GRUS-3 seven satellites, which will be launched in 2026 to enhance revisit frequency, coverage, and spectral capability. By leveraging these anticipated improvements in satellite capabilities, we will further strengthen our support for decision making in industries and governments across Australia.
Mark Covington, CEO, Geoimage Pty Ltd, commented:
When I first visited the Axelspace headquarters in Tokyo in late 2023 I was impressed with the technology and more importantly the ethos of the management. At the time, I thought the future of Earth Observation lay in the highest possible ground resolution. Today, I am happy to say, “I was wrong”. The wide swath width and multiple satellites in the GRUS constellation provides unprecedented capacity to rapidly capture very large areas. By combining Axelspace’s capture capability with newly developed services at Geoimage, together, we have the ability to deliver products for land management at very large scale. I am very excited and delighted to announce our partnership with Axelspace.

Tatsuhiko Fukasawa, Head of AxelGlobe Business Division, Axelspace, commented:
We are honored to partner with Geoimage, whose deep expertise and trusted relationships across Australia make them the ideal bridge between advanced satellite technology and the industries that need it most. At Axelspace, our mission is to make Earth observation more accessible and practical, and by working with Geoimage we can ensure that Australian clients receive not only high-quality imagery from our GRUS constellation, but also the local insight and support required to turn that data into real solutions. We aim to grow together and support Australia’s environmental, agricultural, and infrastructure needs with both our current GRUS-1 constellation and next generation of GRUS-3 satellites.
